Holly - RL for Ken and Aya

[Apparently, there's supposed to be a cold spell tonight and Chloe didn't finished preparing the plants for it because of his injuries. The others did most of the work, true, but they knew not to interfere with his roses.

He rests on his hands and knees to pile mulch around the base to keep the roots warm enough to survive. The smaller climbing roses will need to be unwound from their wooden frame, set on the ground, and covered in more of the same material afterwards.

This would be easier if he had another skilled set of hands. Nana hasn't yet said when Ken and Aya will get home, though.]

...Ken. [He would facepalm but he's too busy heading inside to make sure they don't get in his things.]

[And that's enough to make him laugh. At least it's Aya's things and not his own.

Once Aya leaves, Chloe looks at Ken seriously.]

You upset me often, but... I know I'm not really the easiest person to deal with. We were both recovering and that leaves even the nicest person short tempered. It's all good.

We all deserve happiness in this life. I'm not sure I'll find it, but I still believe that we're not ugly enough people to deserve only misery.

I know you don't think you will, but everything that's happened is still fresh. It takes time, but if you give yourself that time, you might be surprised what you can find. Or in some cases, what finds you.

.... kinda. Believe it or not, Aya was the one that initiated the conversation about it, but neither one of us had even seen what was going before someone from the community decided to point it out to us in a very tactless way.

I only looked at your previous entries on the community because someone said you two were together and I wanted to be able to say she was wrong.

[He can imagine Aya starting it after someone else mentioned it, though.]

You don't even know who she is. Aya thinks she's a real goddess. As in the goddess of discord.

That's good to know. Then you should be able to help us handle the rush of orders we have to deal with in the next couple of weeks at the shop.

Shouldn't be a problem. I've still got some work to do for building my strength back up, but... I'd appreciate it if you didn't let Aya know I'm not back all the way.
