Blue Periwinkle - RL with Makoto
[Hopefully using this device goes as intended. He arranged a place to meet her in her world, so now that he has bits of the flowers she was interested in gathered in a small backpack, Chloe focuses on using it.
In one moment, his world is gone and the scenery around him changes. He looks around, glad that he decided to wear his reading glasses today because signs would be too hard to try and comprehend without them. Hopefully Makoto will be able to recognize his crutches and clothing style, since his hair isn't blond anymore. Eris's price for the device was to temporarily make his hair its natural color again -- deep, bloody red.]

She was right on time, never one to make anyone wait for her unless she could help it. She had with her the money she owed, sure to bring plenty, probably more than enough, and a homemade simnel cake...because Chloe did go through some trouble for her so she felt is was the very least she could do.
Though when she sees him standing there with his crutches she rushes towards him, concerned.] Ah...you...I hope you weren't waiting too long, Chloe-san!

[He smiles at her and adjusts his weight on the crutches. After a month on them, it's not uncomfortable anymore.]
I had to figure out how to use what I was given anyway and it took a bit.
[Chloe looks around, hoping there's a bench so he can sit and pull open the backpack more easily.]
no subject
I'm glad! Though...if you'd like, we could sit down [sweeps her hand in the direction of a bench not too far away] I could carry something if you need me too.
no subject
[He hobbles over to the bench, sits down, and looks at the cake in her hands.]
What did you bring? I wasn't expecting anything.
no subject
I'm really sorry that happened to you, if there's anythign else I can do so you're comfortable please let me know.
[She takes a seat as well, though she made sure to give him plenty of space while they talked in case he needed to prop his leg or something.]
Oh? It's a simnel cake, I made for you, you're going through all this trouble on a broken leg so...so thank you very much! Though you don't have to take it or you can give it to someone else...I just really appreciate this.

[Having a girl offer to do things for him is different enough that he's not really sure how to act, but he tries not to let his surprise show. Once he sits down, he opens the backpack to show her the bits of not only the flowers she mentioned, but a couple others that tended to grow in the same area.]
I haven't had a cake like that since I was in school, actually. Thank you for making it. I'll be sure to eat at least part of it before one of my coworkers thinks it makes a good snack after deliveries and soccer practice.

As for doing things for Chloe, well that's just a natural response, she's a very protective person and it's difficult to sit back and do nothing. She stifles the urge though and focuses on the flowers and the other decorative accompaniments.]
You're welcome, I hope you enjoy it and I hope you get to eat as much of it as you want to...but I can make more if you don't.
[The look on her face is playful enough, but if Chloe did want more she was always up for cooking and would only be too happy.]
Ah...this is great...the ox-eye daisies, guelder-roses, hard fern, and sea-blite...I like those the best. I think they'll make a really good arrangement!
no subject
[He can appreciate someone playful, so he keeps smiling, glad she hasn't wondered about the reason his hair changed colors so quickly between their last meeting and now. Maybe she thinks it's just dyed?]
You're welcome. I hope whoever you're making it for enjoys the gift -- are flowers a job for you or simply a hobby?
no subject
She has indeed noticed, but assumed that he wanted a change and didn't bother commenting in case it was rude. Besides his red hair was lovely and it didn't do anything to diminish him at all.]
Mmmhmm...I hope so too since the person I'm making it for can't go to Ireland himself. Well...right now it's a hobby...but I hope that I'll have my own flower shop one day and my own bakery or restaurant...or all three!
no subject
Her goals are pretty lofty, but they make him chuckle since she's so sincere with them.]
Working at a flower shop's not as easy or fun as spending all day in a garden. I'd offer to let you spend a few days helping out in ours, but I'm not certain how good your English is without the help of whatever lets us understand others from the community.
[His Japanese is formal, and his accent's a bit weird, but Chloe's good enough considering it's his sixth language.]
no subject
My English isn't as good as a friend of mine...but I promise you I do understand. I understand the value of working hard and I understand that if I really want something in this world then I have to rely on myself in order to make things happen. That doesn't mean I won't ask for a helping hand when it's offered.

[Even without knowing much about her, Chloe admires Makoto's determination already.]
It's nice to talk to someone who knows exactly what they want to do even though they're relatively young.
no subject
[Though she's a little startled by the offer, she's clearly very flattered by it as well.]
Well, it's probably because I've been on my own for so long, I don't really have anyone to help me with my goals and I had to learn to set them myself. Without my dreams it would have just been very lonely...so if it's hard work then that's fine...I never thought of the things I wanted to get in life as being easy...but anything that's worth doing isn't always easy. I don't have a problem with setting the bar high.

Friends make goals easier, or at least make the journey to them more bearable. Some things worthwhile are easier if you're not alone for them.

I think 3500 yen should be enough.

Thank you so much for this! Oh, will you be able to get back okay, do you need some help?
no subject
[And he doesn't just mean with flowers. Chloe likes helping as much as he can.]
no subject
Th-thank you Chloe-san, for everything! I won't forget and I'll remember your offer

[He smiles, stands up, and grabs his crutches so he can leave.]
